Inventory Categories

Categories help you organize your inventory items into logical groups, making it easier to search, filter, and manage your stock. For example: Router, Cable, Switch, Onu, Olt.

All Categories

The categories list displays all inventory categories with the following columns:

Column	Description
ID	Unique identifier for the category
Name	Name of the category
Items	Number of inventory items linked to this category
Created By	The user who created this category
Created At	Date and time the category was created
Actions	Edit or Delete the category

Add Category

To add a new category, click the "+ Add Category" button. Fill in the fields and click Submit.

 

Number	Field	Required	Description
1	Name	Yes	Enter a descriptive name for the category (e.g., Router, Switch, Cable, ONU, OLT).
2	Description	No	Provide an optional description explaining what types of items belong to this category.

Edit Category

To edit a category, click "Actions" dropdown next to the category and select "Edit". Update the fields and submit.

Delete Category

To delete a category, click "Actions" dropdown next to the category and select "Delete". Confirm the action to remove it.

WARNING

Ensure no inventory items are assigned to a category before deleting it. Deleting a category that has associated items may affect those item records.
